Understanding of Sign Removal responsibility

Question presented to us.

I bought a franchise 3 years ago. Lease is up and I did not take my commercial sign on the building down. Landlord now wants to charge me $1,000 for removal of sign and take it out of my deposit. Am I legally responsible for this, there is nothing in the lease about it.

We hear this question often. Yes, in almost every case, the tenant is responsible for the sign removal when vacating their strorefront. It is in fact cheaper to have us remove the sign than have the landlord pay a company like us, to remove the sign and then provide you a steep upcharge for the work later.

We can help you get it down quickly and keep your deposit. Please see our sign removal page or CLICK HERE

Foam Letters

Foam Letters - We have been asked to replace a lot of foam letters made by others lately. Seems in the past, sign companies sold Gatorfoam letters because it was cheap and easy to work with. The problem is it doesn’t have a good history of exterior life. You have probably seen them around with the faces peeling. Don’t let this happen to you.

We have two products for exterior foam letters. Both a 2lb and a 10lb foam material that has an aluminum face. This resists any type of peeling of the face.

The great news is we have the 2lb. foam at the old foam prices. 90% of what we sell is the 2lb as it is extremely durable and affordable. We have not ever had to replace any of these. Note - We can paint the sides the same color or a different color to contrast.

Highest sign permit rates in San Diego County.

Yep, it is outrageous. The cost for a sign permit in Chula Vista is $570.88. The highest of all cities in San Diego county that we have found thus far. Cities want growth and storefront improvements to attract business and yet
they set the fees so high for the average small business owner they simply cannot afford the permit alone. Suggest the City of Chula Vista revisit their exorbitant fee for a sign permit if they truly want to promote growth in the district by lowering their fees so that the small business owner can simply afford a storefront sign. The adjustment of those fees could offset the cost of signage so the small business owner could help promote themselves and raise sales
and business tax revenue in your district.
